PNWSCT Issues Call for Papers

The Pacific Northwest Society for Coatings Technology (PNWSCT) invites presentations for its 56th annual Spring Symposium¡ªthe Northwest Coatings Fest¡ªto be held from May 11-13, 2011, at the Cedarbrook Lodge in SeaTac, Wash. The symposium, keyed to the theme of "Red Alert: Products and Solutions for Tough Economic Times," will bring together technical, sales, and business professionals for a technical program, conference lunch, and conference dinner.

The technical program will begin on May 12 and will extend for a half-day on May 13. Presentations should focus on the future of paint manufacturing in the Northwest, and new product technology designed for the future. The symposium will cover different substrates, such as composites and vinyl (siding and window profile), with products such as self-healing, self-cleaning, and nano coatings. New concepts are strongly encouraged. Presentations will be 40-45 minutes long.

Those interested should submit an abstract of 250 words or less, including the paper title and contact information, such as author names, company name, address, phone, fax, email address, and speaker bio. The deadline for the Call for Papers is January 7, 2011. The Society will send out a notification of acceptance by February 15. Upon acceptance into the technical program, speakers will be required to submit a completed paper by March 15. A "Best Paper Award" will be presented at the event.
